LessWrong 2.0 exists to give the rationality community the tools to make intellectual progress on important problems.

Our goal with the frontpage is to have a place where you can read the best content produced by the rationality community (subject to our moderation guidelines). Historically insightful writing in the community can be found in the Recommended Reading and new ideas are discussed in the Featured and Recent sections.

Your user page is your very own LessWrong blog, where you can write about whatever you want. We're interested to know what ideas you've been thinking about lately! If you write a post that seems like a good fit for the frontpage, and you're happy for us to do so, then the admins or the Sunshine Regiment (the mods) will move your post there. Once you've had a bunch of posts promoted to the front page, you'll be able to promote posts yourself.

The comment section is a space for you to discuss your thoughts on a post, and communicate the true reasons for your beliefs and disagreements. If you want a better idea of what posts and comments are a good fit for the frontpage, and what heuristics moderators use to make decisions, check out the Frontpage Posting and Commenting Guidelines.

LessWrong 2.0 is currently in open beta (announcement post). During this time the site will undergo many changes, which will be announced in the Meta section. We wrote up a strategic overview on LessWrong 1.0, where there are 280+ comments of discussion. If you notice any bugs, or want to let us know about something that could be improved, you can do so through intercom (the green button in the bottom right-hand corner), and we'll get back to you within 24 hours (usually sooner).
