Just saw this quote from an aspiring game developer on Reddit:
Such a weird position to be in, and yet many people are in it. When creating any kind of art, it might be a bad idea to focus on making something that you like, because it's easy to fool yourself into liking something and overlooking its flaws over time. A better guideline is to make something that others will like. I know this sounds heretical and contrary to the whole idea of art, but it seems more and more true to me.
